Current House Status Update - Week 11 and 12

Well its been 2 weeks since we posted an update regarding the status of our current house and we are now into August with no offer in sight.  We heard back from the couple that we were hoping would submit an offer (see post Cross Your Fingers...) and were shocked with their response.  They stated that they didn't like the layout of the kitchen and that there is not enough cabinet space.  This was a little shocking to us because we believe that our current kitchen has more cabinet space than the kitchen in our new house and we just added a huge pantry to the kitchen.  The cabinets were new to the house 13 years ago; and are in really good shape.  For a 108 year old Victorian house, this kitchen is about 3 times the size as a typical kitchen for this style of house.

Needless to say, there is not much we can do about it; so we continue to focus our energy on the things we do have some control over.  Last week we decided to drop the price and we were hoping to stir up some activity.  However, it was another very quiet week. 

Update on neighbors:
Not much has evolved with either neighbor.  Both neighbors have yards that are despicable and we see no help in sight from the borough.  It leaves us no choice, but to move this issue to the county health department and/or even the media.  We will keep you posted.

Claw foot tub has arrived...

We received our claw foot tub on Friday, 07/22/2011.  We are very excited and can't wait until after closing so we can finally have it installed.  We are very grateful that RH installed the plumbing rough-in.

Garage Door Openers

Hello fellow bloggers. We did not purchase a garage door opener from RH and we plan to purchase 2 garage door openers and have them installed after closing.  We are reaching out to our fellow bloggers for any information, suggestions, and advice.

 We are soooooo very please with the progress and our hearts go out to the worker bees for working soooooo very hard in this unbearable heat.

We stopped by the house on Saturday, 07/16/2011 to see the progress and to show it to another family member (that is in town from VA).  Drywall was everywhere and ...

Brick - Madrid

SLEEPLESS NIGHT, LEADS TO FIXED PANTRY

Typically, we write the blog based on both of our (HW and WW) prospectives; however, this blog is strictly based on HW prospective. 

While I was taking pictures of the house after the pre-drywall meeting, I noticed that the framing in the pantry looked a little off (1st picture), but I didn't say anything at the time.  When I got home, I mentioned something to WW about my concerns and he said he had the same feeling.  So I attempted to go to sleep that night, but around 2 AM I couldn't stop thinking about it.  I even sent an email to blogger "Mike" and I scanned blogger "Shara" site to see if she had a picture of the pantry...both just built a Waverly.  I knew that the PM stated that he might start to drywall the next day, so I sent him a text about my concern.  Around 7 AM, I received a text from the PM stating that I was right about the pantry and that he would have it fixed before the drywall is installed.  And around 9:30 AM, I received another text with a picture (2nd picture) from the PM stating that the pantry had been fixed.  A HUGE thanks goes out to our PM for the quick fix .....Whoooo Hooooo!!!!!
