STAYING COOL...WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS?
For the bloggers that live in the Pittsburgh area, it feels like overnight that the weather went from weeks of rain to 90 degrees. One of the many things that we look forward to in our new house is central air because our current house does not have central air and we depend on several window A/C units to cool the house. The listing reflects that the house includes window A/C units. However, there is a debate on do we put the window units in or not. On one hand, if we install the window units we are concerned that the look and noise of the window units may turn off a potential buyer. On the other hand, if we don't install the window units that the potential buyer may be discouraged on how warm the house is.

I would put them in. I think as a buyer, Id rather be cool walking through the house than actually be turned off by the AC units. PLUS ...although they may be a bit unsightly...it IS what its going to look like when they buy it...unless they like sweating their nuts n' berries off by taking them out! :)
LOL @ sweating their nuts and berries! But I would tend to agree. No one wants a hot house. If they walk in from a suana into a cool refreshing home....they will block out the sound and just rejoie in the cool air!
I also agree. Put them in. The potential buyers need to know everything upfront. Besides, I don't know about you, but I tend to be very cranky when I'm all hot and sticky and sweaty. You want happy people looking through your house, not cranky ones drenched in sweat.
My cousin bought an old Victorian home in Pitts. They eventually added their own AC. =)
Your house has a buyer...they just need to show up! lol I'll keep your house in our prayers!
question: at the top of your blog you have other pages we can go too. I want to do that!! How did you do it?
@Noey814 - To add other pages
Click on Design to go to Edit Layout mode, click on the 'Design' tab, click on 'Page Elements', and add the 'Pages' gaget under the Header.
If you click 'Edit' on the Pages gaget, you can sort the pages by clicking and dragging the pages up or down.
To add Pages, click on the 'Posting' tab and then click on 'Edit Pages' and click on 'New Page'. You can add up to 10 pages.
Let me know if this helps.
THANKS!! Won't let me upload pictures though. =( But It's a start! Thank you!!
Thanks everyone for your feedback, it really helped to reassure us that putting in the window units will not reflect too much as a negative. We also ran it by our Realtor who also agreed to put the window units in. We have hooked up 2 of our window units (both in the bedrooms), so hopefully we will get a better night sleep tonight. We plan to hook up the rest of the window units this week.
Thanks because I wanted to do that too! I like the tabs and the your background! Cool pics
I might be a little late on this, but, i agree. Put the units in. BUT, don't put any in the front windows. That ruins the curb appeal. You can probably cool the house off in enough places and avoid putting them in conspicuous windows.
@Ravenna - We completely agree with you regarding not placing a window unit in the front windows. That would mess up the curb appeal. Thanks
@LaLady - Glad that we could help.
