DISHWASHER ISSUES
Since we moved in to the house, we have not been able to use our dishwasher. At first we thought we just couldn't figure out all of the settings and the user manual is a joke. We contacted the PM who took a look at it and couldn't figure it out either. So the PM contacted GE who stopped by the house on Friday (09/16/2011) to tell us that they will need to replace the control panel. The good thing is we are not as dumb as we thought, the bad thing is we will be doing dishes by hand for at least another week.

Well, BOOO!! That's not good! Didn't it need to work to pass inspection? I don't know. I'm just sorry you are still doing dishes by hand. That stinks.
I am happy that they figured it out and it's getting though. Hope they can fix it sooner than they anticipate! GL! *hugs*
LOL...sorry...not nice to laugh, but I know what you are talking about. Something brand new like that you would assume would be working and my first tought would have also been that I must be doing something wrong. Our PM is funny...he said he is going to have to take the manual home and study up on the Advantium Oven so he can tell us how it works and give us a demo during our walk thru. How is yours? Is it easy to figure out?
That does suck! Although I really dislike the dishwasher we have, I would be devastated if it completely didnt work lol... We will be purchasinf a new one sooner than later, it does not completeky dry the dishes and the set up is not ideal where you put the dishes. I guess thats what happens when you dont upgrade. lol..GL HW ad BD thats not funny Mr. :)
@BD The Advantium is awesome; however, we have only used a few of the features. It is very easy to use. Our PM didn't get a chance to read over the manual so we were pretty much on our own to figure it out. We hope it makes making Thanksgiving dinner easier.
Hey HW - I'm really sorry to hear that on top of everything else, you have had to wash dishes by HAND! I hope that you won't soon be washing your clothes on a rock in the river too. :)
What dishwasher did you get? We upgraded to the stainless option, and have found that the dish rack makes zero sense and I can't for the life of me figure out how to load it effectively. I think it will get its own blog post soon...
We also upgraded to the stainless steel model that is part of the Premier VI Built-in Stainless Steel/Black package. GE Profile with SmartDispense Technology (model# PDWT380RSS)
We were supposed to receive the part via UPS this week and then we have to call GE to set-up for the tech. to come back to install the replacement part.
As far as loading the dishwasher, there are a few diagrams in our user manual that hopefully help us with the correct way to load the dishwasher.
Our old dishwasher had the silverware pullout tray on the front of the door and this one has the tray in with the dishes, which we are not too fond of because it takes up space where we could put dishes.
